The PPA Tour Asia has officially announced that Ben Johns—the most dominant athlete in men’s pickleball—will compete at the Malaysia Cup in Kuala Lumpur from 24–28 September 2025, marking his first‑ever PPA appearance outside the United States. Johns arrives with numbers that scarcely need embellishment: 156 PPA gold medals, concurrent No. 1 rankings in men’s doubles and mixed doubles, and a 108-match singles win streak that still stands as the tour’s longest.

The Malaysia Cup is classified as a Cup-level stop on the newly launched PPA Tour Asia—one rung below a Slam on the three-tier ladder (Slam, Cup, Open). Cup events award 1,500 ranking points and guarantee at least five-hundred-thousand dollars (US $500,000) in prize money and payouts, making Kuala Lumpur the richest destination in Asian pickleball to date.
