The Delhi Pickleball Association (DPA–Amateur) has been granted permanent membership by the Delhi Olympic Association, as announced by the All India Pickleball Association (AIPA). The recognition formalizes DPA as the capital’s conduit for sanctioned events, certified coaching, and selection opportunities under AIPA’s national structure.
Momentum from the Jammu Nationals
The announcement follows AIPA’s 9th National Pickleball Championship, held in Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir, from September 26–28, 2025, where DPA sent a 32-player contingent. Organizers reported more than 450 players representing 24 states, underscoring the sport’s expanding competitive base. AIPA President Arvind Ramesh Prabhoo hailed the affiliation as “a major milestone for the sport in the capital,” emphasizing the rollout of structured tournaments, certified training, and official representation for Delhi’s athletes at the national level.
AIPA’s Growing Footprint
AIPA points to a decade of steady expansion: active presence in more than two dozen states, multiple National Championships, and marquee international hosting—including the 2022 Bainbridge Cup (often called the World Cup of Pickleball) in India. Paired with grassroots demonstrations, training camps, and development programs, these steps have standardized play and widened access across the country.
DPA’s permanent seat is more than a procedural upgrade—it connects neighborhood courts to national contention. With Delhi now plugged into a formal pathway, coach education and event structure can scale faster, anchoring pickleball’s rise in India and—step by step—across Asia.
