July 17, 2025—The Global Pickleball Federation has named Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating its official rating system. The move unites GPF’s four continental bodies—Continental Federation of Africa (CAP), Pickleball Federation of the Americas (PFA), Oceania Pickleball Federation (OPF), and Asia Pickleball Association (APA)—behind one trusted metric. Europe’s twelve member nations, with more expected, will join the same framework.

GPF President Javier Regalado welcomed the partnership in no uncertain terms:

“We’re thrilled to partner with DUPR as we work to elevate and unify pickleball worldwide. Having a single, trusted rating system in place across continents is a positive step toward unifying pickleball, eliminating some of the confusion and fragmentation that inhibits growth.”

How the DUPR Scale Works

DUPR assigns every player a real-time mark on a 2.000–8.000 scale, updating after each verified match. The algorithm analyzes matches and different factors such as point differentials and opponent strength, offering a clearer picture of performance than simple win-loss tallies.

With DUPR’s open API, local clubs can auto-seed ladders, while national selectors can spot rising talent in seconds—removing guesswork from grassroots to elite levels.

Simpler Events, Stronger Brackets

Standardized ratings mean smoother logistics. Tournament directors can auto-seed brackets in minutes. GPF will require DUPR for all sanctioned events, including upcoming continental championships.

DUPR chief executive Tito Machado underscored inclusivity:

“Under GPF and DUPR’s historic alignment, international players of all ages, gender and location are united under one technology platform to grow the great sport of pickleball.”

Sprint Toward Brisbane 2032

The federation submitted its application for International Olympic Committee (IOC) recognition in Lausanne last month, a foundational step toward a possible debut in the 2032 Brisbane Games. A unified rating framework demonstrates GPF’s ability to ensure competitive integrity across borders.

As every rally feeds the same database, the continent’s deep talent pool finally share a single scoreboard—and a straighter line to Olympic qualification. For everyday players, the change is simple—update your app, log your games, and watch the number next to your name climb.
