LinkedUp Asia will host Malaysia’s first Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) Level 1 Coaching Certification workshop on Sunday, November 30, at Tamarind Square in Cyberjaya, Selangor. Classroom work runs at Unit 7, Tamarind Square, with on-court evaluations at HyperGround Courts inside the same complex. The one-day program is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; registration is RM1,500 (about USD $359).

What is PPR / Level 1

PPR is a United States–based organization and an official coach-education and certification partner of USA Pickleball, the sport’s national governing body—one reason its certificates are widely recognized by clubs and facilities worldwide. Level 1 is designed for aspiring coaches who’ll teach beginners through improvers. Candidates study rules, safety, and core techniques, then demonstrate competence in three areas: personal skills, teaching ability, and knowledge. Depending on performance, successful candidates earn an Associate Coach, Coach, or Pro rating.

The certification blends self-paced online coursework with a hands-on, in-person workshop—an approach intended to anchor theory in real coaching scenarios. For coaches building a résumé in Asia, the PPR pathway is also accepted by many facilities and programs that seek standardized instruction.

It gives new instructors a common language for safety, technique, and session design, so a beginner in Cyberjaya gets the same, reliable first lesson as a rookie in Seoul or Singapore. As more clubs, schools, and municipalities look to add courts, Level 1 coaches become the trusted boots on the ground who can launch beginner programs, feed junior pathways, and grow women’s and adaptive divisions with confidence. If Asia wants sustainable, inclusive pickleball—not just viral buzz—PPR Level 1 is the foundation that turns today’s curiosity into tomorrow’s lifelong players.
