Good news for players: more pickleball courts are coming to central Singapore. On October 10, 2025, a government Request for Quotation (RfQ) titled “Addition and Alteration (A&A) Works to Convert Sections of Little India Bus Terminal (LIBT) for Recreational Pickleball Activities”. The RfQ asks for the works to be delivered by November 30, 2025. The official opening date will be confirmed later.
Why Little India?
- Easy access: The terminal sits beside Little India MRT Station, making it simple to reach with paddles in tow.
- Smart use of space: LIBT mainly serves as a private pick-up point on Sundays. Converting part of it adds weekday and evening activity without losing its current role.

What’s being built
- Recreational courts: The scope points to community play—perfect for socials, coaching, and beginners.
- Sheltered play: As a terminal space, expect weather protection and multipurpose use.
- Safety and markings: Standard court surfacing, nets, and barrier lines suitable for casual play.
What this means for the community
- More court time: Demand for bookings often outstrips supply. These courts help close the gap.
- Central meetup spot: A quick transfer from the Downtown or North East Lines makes after-work games feasible.
- Model for growth: Adaptive re-use of transit spaces could unlock more courts island-wide.
Turning a transport hub into a play hub signals where Singapore sport is headed—right into the daily commute. By reusing centrally located space beside Little India MRT, the city shortens the distance between work, transit, and court time, proving that pickleball can thrive not just in purpose-built arenas but in the seams of urban life. When the nets go up, it will be one of the easiest after-work rallies in town—and a template for future community courts across the island.
