Pickleball’s popularity in Malaysia keeps spiking, yet many players still scramble for open time slots. Picklefox - an all-in-one pickleball brand, and now facility development - plans to relieve that crunch with Mothership, a purpose-built hub in Kuala Lumpur scheduled to open in the second half of 2025.

What Players Can Expect

  • Seven regulation, tournament-ready courts featuring professional lighting for day-to-night play.
  • Six Zero-sanctioned surfaces, which Picklefox says will be the first of their kind in Malaysia.
  • Smart-court technology that tracks shots, provides real-time data, and feeds coaching dashboards.
  • An on-site pro shop offering paddle customisation and the complete Six Zero equipment line.
  • A social lounge and flexible event rooms for leagues, corporate outings, and clinics.

“We saw a gap in the market for a premium, tournament-level, and smart-court pickleball facility that caters not only to casual players but also to serious competitors and professionals.” - Janet, Founder of Picklefox

A Strategic Alliance With Six Zero

The Australian gear innovator Six Zero has partnered with Picklefox to equip Mothership’s courts and storefront.

“The partnership came about naturally through shared connections in the industry and our mutual desire to grow the sport. Six Zero saw the potential in Mothership as a flagship location in Asia where players could experience and access their products firsthand.” - Janet

“We are very excited to partner with Picklefox to grow the sport of pickleball in Malaysia. We look forward to combining forces and showcasing our high-quality products to the fast-growing Malaysian community.” - Dale Young, Founder of Six Zero

The Launchpad: Building Tomorrow’s Competitors

Starting in August, The Launchpad program will identify intermediate-level players (via the DUPR rating system) and sponsor them through:

  1. Analytics-driven coaching sessions
  2. “Titan Sessions”—sparring against higher-ranked athletes
  3. Partner-matching for strategic doubles play
  4. Sponsored entries to local and regional tournaments
  5. A showcase finale that caps the training cycle

Key backers include U Mobile, Leapmotor, LAC, and Skechers, with Six Zero supplying technical support.

“The validation came from the overwhelming interest we’ve seen in the sport, the increasing number of players, and the need for dedicated spaces designed with professional-level quality.” - Janet

“That changes the perception from ‘just a trend’ to a legitimate, sustainable sport.”

Looking Down the Line

Construction is on schedule for a Q3 launch, with preview events planned before the grand opening. Picklefox also hints at expanding the Mothership concept to other Asian cities once the Kuala Lumpur flagship is fully operational.

With pro-grade courts, real-time analytics, and a development pathway for rising talent, Mothership is poised to give Malaysia’s pickleball community a fresh springboard—no hype required!
