PPL Luzon Open 2026 to Launch in Cavite with ₱700K Prize Pool

Featuring one of the largest combined prize pools for a local open pickleball event in the Philippines, the six-day tournament begins January 16 at The Dink Lab in Cavite.

The PPL Luzon Open 2026, organized by the Philippine Pickleball League (PPL), is set to begin on January 16 at The Dink Lab in Kawit, Cavite. With ₱700,000 in cash and sponsored merchandise, 35 championship divisions, and six full days of competition, the tournament is one of the most extensive multi-day pickleball competitions announced in the Philippines.

Matches will take place across two weekends - January 16 to 18 and January 23 to 25 - using 13 dedicated courts at The Dink Lab Main and The Dink Lab Elite. Organizers estimate over 2,000 participants and spectators to attend.

Tournament Format and Divisions

The tournament features a wide slate of categories segmented by age, skill level, and event type:

  • Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles
  • Team events for advanced divisions
  • Youth and Novice brackets
  • Open, Advanced, and Intermediate tiers

Open categories will use sideout scoring, while other divisions follow a round-robin to single elimination format. Match schedules and results will be managed via Baseline, the league’s official tournament platform.

International and Local Star Power

International and Local Star Power Vietnamese professional athlete Sophia Anh Tran Phuong is confirmed to participate, bringing international experience to the local tournament. Her inclusion signals the growing global interest in Southeast Asian pickleball and raises the level of competition on home soil.

Also joining the roster is Dudut Lang, a popular figure in the Philippine pickleball community known for his energetic playing style and competitive edge. Dudut, nicknamed “Malakas,” will compete in multiple events while maintaining his reputation as the “masayang pickleball athlete”.
