The World Pickleball League (WPBL) is packing its paddles for WPBL On Tour, a four-month series of franchise-run tournaments that will span more than 20 event days across India. Fans and athletes in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Delhi, and Bengaluru can compete or cheer under their hometown banner - an off-season showcase inspired by the blockbuster success of WPBL Season 1.
“From day one, our vision for WPBL has been to unlock maximum value for our franchises, players, partners and all our stakeholders keeping fan engagement at the heart of all initiatives,” - Gaurav Natekar, Co-founder & CEO, World Pickleball League.
“WPBL On Tour’ is our way of empowering our franchises to grow their local presence, build loyal communities, and embed pickleball into the cultural fabric of their cities with a year-round engagement.”
How the WPBL On Tour 2025 in India Works
- City-based tournaments: Each franchise stages an open-entry event in its home market.
- League support: WPBL provides strategic, marketing, and financial backing for every stop.
- Grassroots focus: Local players, from newcomers to veterans, get a rare chance to compete in official WPBL colours - while fans experience the same high-energy vibe that powered Season 1.

Building Toward Season 2
With Season 2 locked in for 24 January – 8 February 2026, WPBL On Tour keeps the spotlight on pickleball during the long off-season, creating a continuous loop of player development, franchise visibility, and fan engagement - the first 360° initiative of its kind in Indian professional sport.
